I love Twitter. I have tweeted since 2006 and I honestly don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. As time progressed and all the excellent Twitter apps hit the market one really stood out (ignoring the fact that I use Tweetie from my iPhone). TweetDeck really hit a home run when it launched. It is without a doubt the total Twitter App package. Columns and all sorts of little features that make it my default to interact with the service.
Truth be told though it needs some updating. Thanks to a faithful tweet I made about this issue it was confirmed that a new update was coming and some of my wish list items would be included. Either way, there are a few more. Here is a list of the top 5 TweetDeck improvements I would love to see.
- Play nice with more services. *
There are a lot of great services for Twitter, mainly my current favorite, img.ly for photo sharing. I would love to see things like this hit TweetDeck. *According to a Tweet from a developer all of this is in the works.
- Proper Theming for the App itself.
TweetDeck is quite nice to look at. At the same time I am sure in the open source community there are people would could make it even nicer to look at. I think this should be examined. - Remove deleted posts.
I realize this might be more difficult to pull off but I would love for TweetDeck to double check if posts have been deleted once they are already in my “All Friends” feed. When friends make a spelling mistake and delete a post only to repost the correct tweet TweetDeck should remove the error post. It makes things less annoying and confusing for all parties. - A “native” application.
We all know and love Adobe Air but we also all know and hate the fact that it is a RAM whore. How nice would it be to have native Windows and Mac apps for TweetDeck? - Twitter Trends intigration.
Not really the most important feature request but it would be nice to be able to switch up your Trend location right though the service.
So there you go, just some of my own personal feature requests. Either way TweetDeck is great and the entire team over there should be commended for making such a great product. I look forward to the next release. If you aren’t using TweetDeck and you use Twitter, get on it! You can check it out here.
