Sparrow for Mac Wins

Today the crew over at Sparrow released their long-awaited update. Everything about it is fantastic. I don’t know how many of you are Apple users but if you are head into the App Store and get your hands on either the free or paid version.

Gmail meets Twitter for Mac.

I Decided to Setup a Web Store

I am always telling people about books I’ve read. I get questions on Tumblr or Twitter asking me which books I recommend for “x”. Or “which book is best to help me understand Y?” After countless lists created and posted to be banished into cyberspace I decided to get a bit pro-active. I went ahead and set up an Amazon store.

I don’t make a killer or anything like that (4% I think). Chances are no one is going to jump in an order 20 books but the point is I can continuously update the collection there, and should someone want to order it is very easy for them. I have a preliminary list of items up for you to browse and I also included some silver bullion you can score from Amazon at only a few dollars over spot.

Not trying to hustle anyone but I do think this is the best way to go about it! Happy shopping and happy reading. A generous percentage of money made from the sale of any items through my store will go to true charity. Don’t expect me to donate to the United Way or UNICEF or any other big business scam like that.

Start shopping here: http://astore.amazon.com/twinr08-20. I highly recommend “Lessons for the Young Economist”, “Economics In One Lesson”, or “What Has Government Done to Our Money” be your first purchase if you are just starting out. <3

Joe Biden on Egypt, I’m Ready to Vomit

Update 4: Original quote removed due to lack of reliable source. Not saying Biden didn’t say it but for us to post it we need a better source than a Tumblr from the day before our post. Thank you.

Update 3: After speaking with my professor and asking her about the quotes authenticity I am still unable to find a source beyond some Tumblr sites. As stated these sites had the quote up roughly 2 days before I did. I have tried to contact the owners of the sites but it seems like this quote was entirely fabricated.

Update 2: According to an anonymous commenter the quote comes from an MSNBC interview. I will be investigating and looking for a source after class tonight. Cheers!

Update: First I would like to say thank you for the close to 1,000 hits this has received. I have been contacted by several readers questioning the source of the final quote. The source I took the quote from is no longer “up” which makes me a bit uneasy. I did some Google searching looking for the source and found it posted on several Tumblr sites hours and days before this post.

With that I then took to the search to find the transcript of the original interview that took place on PBS. No where in the interview (19 minutes long) does Joe Biden reference the alleged quote. I am now looking into the possibility that it was taken from somewhere else or spoken in passing. Either way as I find out you will too. Thank you for writing in. I take pride in keeping journalistic integrity in tact at all times. If the quote cannot be sourced it will be removed.

I will however state that Biden not seeing a puppet like Mubarak as a dictator might actually be worse than the quote in question! More as it comes.

Original Post: In a move that doesn’t surprise me one bit Vice President Joe Biden has responded to the Egyptian revolt in a typical statist fashion; lack of support for people who demand their freedom. In an interview the other day he had a few interesting comments.

When asked if he feels Mubarak should step down he had this to say.

“No. I think the time has come for President Mubarak to begin to move in the direction that – to be more responsive to some of the – some – some of the needs of the people out there.”

Forget the fact that millions of people have taken to the street calling for this man to flee the country, good ‘ol Joe knows best. Like a true statist he knows what is best for everyone, everywhere.

His support for Mubarak isn’t much of a surprise considering Mubarak is a US installed puppet dictator. Of course the Vice President would disagree with me! He feels Mubarak has done nothing wrong. Maybe he doesn’t know that Mubarak has kept Egypt under “Emergency Law” for the last 30 years?

“I would not refer to him as a dictator.”

Explain that and justify that to hundreds of thousands of people who have taken to the streets in protest. Explain that to hundreds of thousands who have been aggressed against by Mubarak’s regime.

A Blurb On the State of the Union

While most of the country is sitting in front of their television watching their leader spit well written lies to their face please consider a few things. It is imperative you not let this clever marketing gimmick blind you to the truth.

In the hour Obama will speak, roughly $7 million dollars will be spent on the Iraq war. One hour! Obama tonight will state that there will be a budget freeze but defense spending will not be cut. This means that the “war” will continue to be escalated. This means more people will die. More lives taken.

Obama will mention that jobs are on the rise and give you some bullshit figure to prove his point, however his facts and statistics are all lies. Made up numbers to blind you to the fact that unemployment is on the rise and the economy is ready to burst. Unemployment is closer to 20% but you will hear something about 9%.

In the hour Obama will speak people will die, freedoms will be destroyed, private property world wide will be violated. Don’t listen to the lies about the State of our Union being strong. Strength does not come through collectivism. Strength is in the individual and everything touched upon tonight will serve as a way to strip the individualism you have a natural right to.

Tonight, let’s not celebrate a room full of criminals and corporatists.

Officially Official – The World Is Not Ready

After years of wasted time on the web my brother and I have decided to join forces so to speak and get something together. If you know us then you know we have a long standing track record on all matters related to tech, web, gadgets, politics, gaming, music, movies, sports, etc. We would like to bring that to one central location on the web.

If you aren’t familiar with us we have worked for an assortment of recognizable figures in many industries. We have a deep interest in all matters listed above and because of our outspoken nature we feel we can provide a service for some by offering our insight. We aim to achieve this through text posts and eventually podcasts with guests.

Rather than competing against one another for brotherly supremacy we have decided to abandon all other blogs and concentrate on this. We hope that this can serve as something fun for everyone. We aren’t going to try and be an Engadget, or Gizmodo. They do their jobs quite well. What we are is a different perspective and a different opinion to consider. If you like it, great! If not, excellent! Let us know!

So that’s it. We hope this can pick up a bit. You can find the feed on Twitter by following this link (@worldnotready) or by following our individual accounts listed on the side. Please check back soon and participate! We won’t require sign ups to comment and will let anyone speak their mind.

Thank you again to friends who helped inspire this and to the new friends we will make, we do this for all of you. Cheers!
